Graduation is most certainly about celebration, but it’s also about the culmination of long years of hard work and sacrifice and taking part in a ritual that testifies to self-improvement through education and dedication. It’s not quite a party, then, and so needs to be approached slightly differently.
If you’re looking forward to graduating then you’ll be perfectly aware that you’re not going to be alone, which is precisely why you need to book any appointments you might need well in advance. Ladies, this means that if you want to have your hair and nails done then you really shouldn’t leave it to the last moment and hope you can be seen the morning of the event by that salon on the corner. If you can’t then you’ll be disappointed, and that’s not a good look for a graduation photo. Gentlemen, be aware that if you’re hiring a suit you’ll be just one of many males in your local area looking to dress sharply. Remember, it’s a graduation – so work hard to avoid anything that makes you look like you’re proud to be going to your prom. You’re not, but should you leave it too late you might well find that you’ll have to dress as if you think that you are. Ladies, this also means you should avoid ball gowns and anything you believe makes you pretty in pink. Feel free to wear heels and a dress that just covers your knees, but be aware that if you don’t also carry some flats you may live to regret it.
Enjoy The Moment
Take it easy the night before and make sure you get plenty of quality sleep, and don’t get up too early on the big day. As long as you’ve already made any appointments and have booked some suitably elegant transport you will have plenty of time to stay relaxed so take your time and don’t rush. If you’re particularly nervous then practice the moment you need to look right down the lens of a camera while posing for a photograph that will follow you around for the rest of your life. Don’t worry; you’ll be fine, as long as you haven’t dressed as if you’re going to a prom and pull an awkward and obviously tired face. In that case the image will haunt the internet for eternity.
Don’t Forget The After-Party
If you want to get the very best from your graduation then you’ll want to thoroughly enjoy your graduations’ after party. Remember those flat shoes? They’ll certainly help you socialize in comfort while time spent sleeping and relaxing should provide you with enough energy to shine on into the early hours. How are you going to get there? Why not join your friends in a party bus? All that hard work is well and truly over and you really do deserve the opportunity to cut loose.
