Never a dull moment on holiday in New Jersey

We can’t make the claim to have counted them ourselves, but apparently there are 1,864 different things to do and see in New Jersey.  That’s a fun-packed vacation whether it’s a weekend away with a loved one or a summer break with the family. New Jersey sits proudly between New York to the east and the commanding Pocono Mountains to the West and really does have something for everyone. There’s history, beaches, shopping, events at any time of the year as well as stunning natural attractions to discover. With huge numbers visiting each year to relax at Jersey Shore or taking in the hustle and bustle of Atlantic City, it’s a location you’ll not forget in a hurry due to the beauty of the scenery and the friendly welcoming community who make this area their home.

Beaches

If you want to spend your vacation on the beach, it has to be New Jersey. With 130 miles of sand stretching from Sandy Hook to Cape May, you’ll discover barrier islands, rocky bays , fishing villages serving the freshest seafood you can imagine and views that will take your breath away. Take your friends and family ‘Down the Shore’ and you’ll be surrounded by likeminded sun, sea and sand fans where hundreds of thousands take in this stunning stretch of coast.

City life

If you want to experience history, culture and be in the center of things when on your vacation, spend some time in the midst of the cities of New Jersey. Locations such as Asbury Park, Princeton and New Brunswick give you the opportunity to explore so much of the history of the nation as well as showing you just why New Jersey is known as the ‘Garden State’. Everywhere you travel, you’ll see cherry blossom around you, calm and inviting lakes and huge gardens to lose yourself in for the day. Walk the boardwalks or become engrossed in the way our ancestors lived their lives through the welcoming city life and combine the tour with a visit to a number of nearby wineries and you’ll feel refreshed as well as relaxed.

Arts & Culture

Museums, galleries, theaters are all available in abundance in New Jersey. The museums are home to a number of world-famous collections which bring global visitors to see the exhibitions and programs which are available all year round. The place to start is the New Jersey State Museum and Planetarium located in Trenton. This will amaze and occupy all the family as there’s fine art, archaeology and natural history on display. The state of the art planetarium has a Dome Video where you’ll feel as if you’re traveling around the solar system and far beyond our nearest galaxies. With your feet firmly back on Earth, head to the Newark Museum for large exhibits followed by the Morris Museum in Morristown and the campus galleries at both Princeton and Rutgers which are open to the public and not just students. New Jersey is a fascinating place to visit and it’s somewhere you’ll want to return to each time you have the chance as it’s impossible to see in just one trip.
